Virtual Dancesport Competition
*You do not need to be a member to participate in the MSO Virtual Games
The Michigan Senior Olympics will be hosting a Virtual Dancesport Competition during the 2021 Spring Games! This is a fun event that helps support the Michigan Senior Olympics and will give you an opportunity to still compete!
VIRTUAL DANCESPORT INFORMATION
Cost: $25 per couple
Event Categories:
Division: PRO/AM or AM/AM
Age Groups: 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80-89, 90+ (Age is based off of age of youngest amateur partner as of December 31, 2021)
Choose (up to 2 styles) style and submit 3 total dances (1 minute each) for each style
American Smooth - Waltz, Tango, & Foxtrot
International Standard - Waltz, Tango, & Foxtrot
American Rhythm - Cha Cha, Rumba, & East Coast Swing
Night Club - West Coast Swing, Hustle, & Salsa
International Latin - Samba, Cha Cha, & Jive
Argentine - Tango, Vals, Milonga
Country Western - Waltz, Cha Cha, & Two Step
Competitors may pick your own music and be video taped from anywhere (home/studio/outdoors/etc).
How it works? You and your partner will pick up to two styles and send in 3 dances for each style. Complete your dances between now and May 31st and send them to the MSO by uploading them into the results upload. The judges will then review all of the entries and on Thursday, June 3rd at 7pm we will have a virtual awards ceremony via Zoom in which the judges will announce our winners. It will also be a fun to see everyone and get to talk to our fellow competitors. In addition to the judges selecting 1st-3rd in each category we will also be awarding some special awards for best costume, most original, as well as some additional surprise categories (TBA).
What you get: Winners will be mailed your ribbons. We will also be awarding prizes to give out for our special categories. All competitors will also be invited to attend the Virtual Awards Ceremony on Thursday, June 3rd at 7pm on Zoom.
Results/Deadline: Register & submit your dance videos between now and May 31st. You can upload your videos through the link below or email them to info@michiganseniorolympics.org. We will confirm with you when the results and videos are received. Any questions please call 248-608-0250. Thank you!

MSO Summer Games SAVE THE DATE - Sunday, August 1, 2021 at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester, MI (***I will be sending out a group rate for rooms in the spring***)
**MSO Membership is not required to participate in the Virtual Events. The Michigan Senior Olympics is a non-profit organization and the membership fees are what helps keep us up and running each year.
